Dounraey Fast Reactor, from Fresgo
Dounrey was the UK’s centre for fast reactor research and development between 1955 and 1994 and is now described as Scotland’s largest nuclear clean-up and demolition project.  The Fast Reactor seen here acheived criticality in 1958 and was operated until 1977.  Decomissioning of the entire site is likey to take until 2070.
