Gilbertfield Castle, Cambuslang
The ruins of Gilbertfield lie between Cambusland and East Kilbride just outside Glasgow.  It was built in the 17th century as a large Tower House.  In the 18th century it was lived in by the writer William Hamilton.  He was responsible for translating Blind Harry's tale of the life of Sir William Wallace.
