Mains Castle, East Kilbride
A traditional 15th century Scottish Tower House. Built by the Comyns, John Comyns was murdered in 1306 and the estate passed the Lindsays of Dunrod (since they helped in the murder). In the late 1970's and 80's the castle was restored from a ruin to a house that could once again be lived in. The James Hamilton Heritage Park is now at the edge of its property, which is where this photo was taken from. [url=http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=262755&Y=655787&A=Y&Z=115/] Map location.
