Cumbrae Castle, Wee Cumbrae
A view of the 13th century castle when the tide is in. The town of Millport on the Great Cumbrae can be seen in the background. The castle is thought to have been built by Walter Stuart who was married to the only daughter of Robert the Bruce. It apparently used to be surrounded by a curtain wall. It bears similarities to both Portencross and Hunterston castle nearby on the mainland.
