The harbour was built in 1857 but apparently was never very popular with fisherman who moved to the larger harbour at Buckie when it was built in 1877. This harbour was filled in and landscaped in the 1970's. The village of Buckpool has now merged into Buckie such that its difficult to know where one ends and the other begins. Map location.
