Craignethan Castle, Crossford
Built in 1532 it is an early example of an artillery fortification.  The main tower house in in the centre of the photo behind a very deep ditch.  There is a steep drop down to the river Nethan behind the tower house.  The building in the foreground was built after the castle was abandoned as a fortification.
