Jedburgh Abbey
The ruins of the 12th century Augustinian Abbey in Jedburgh. Due to its proximity with the border the Abbey was ransacked by the English many times but its end didn't come till 1560 at the time of the Reformation in Scotland. The western Nave was used as a church until 1871 when a new parish church was built. The northern Transept seen here is the only part with an intact roof. The Abbey was handed over to the care of Historic Scotland in 1917.
